einander (each other / another)

The 5 movements of this cycle examine the possibilities to communicate and translate between „linguistic worlds” within and outside of music.

Summen(Teilen) and Analogie musically explore the world of numbers:
in the narrative gesture of sounding mathematics and, respectively, with binary numbers generating rhythms and sounds that develop an expressive life of their own.

Air is the instrumental setting of a poem that acts in the background as a generator of form, rhythm and harmony.

The contrapuntal conversation of the voices in a fugue is the theme of the last movement, which is about the point to „let each other speak” (J. S. Bach) and to relate to one another in a play of strict repetition and free variation.

The middle movement (Touché) brings all the other movements together, i.e. they work simultaneously, touch each other.
This also represents the political aspect of the entire cycle: Quite different personalities and groups with their own languages, behaviours and forms of organizations can live together − as long as they allow space, respect and learn from each other.
